Giuncarico - Gavorrano - Grosseto - Tuscany - Italy

Giuncarico is located on a sunny hill which overlooks the plains of Maremma in Tuscany.

It is a medieval town, which has been very well conserved, in a favorable geographic position in Tuscany. It is situated between Grosseto, Follonica and Castiglione della Pescaia. The nearest international airport is in Pisa, 140 km away, about 1h15min drive. It's a small Tuscan hillside hamlet of about 450 inhabitants, which belongs to the municipality of Gavorrano in the province of Grosseto. Both Italian and foreign tourists are attracted by Giuncarico in every period of the year. It’s only 20 minutes driving to the seaside and beautiful beaches of Castiglione della Pescaia, Follonica, Scarlino and Marina di Grosseto. The basic services are available in town: a grocery store, a butchery, two bars, a tobacco shop, a real estate agency, a restaurant, a household shop and a post office. Furthermore Giuncarico boasts a public open air swimming pool, which is particularly refreshing in the summer.

Because of its location at approx. 200m above sea level the town has a very mild climate with average temperatures of max 30°C and min 17°C in July and August and max 12°C and min 3°C in winter. In winter the max. temperature is never below 0°C.

Especially in the summer, this part of Tuscany attracts lots of tourists, thanks to the vicinity of the coast town of Castiglione della Pescaia, which is famous for its beautiful beaches.
